Cannot Not Renew My Ip Address. Can't Connect To Internet. Won't Pick Up Wireles
I have a new AT&T hotspot. I can't pick up an Internet signal. Diagnosis says settings in hotspot not recognizing my computer. I have tried to change my IP address with no luck. My computer is a 3 yr old acer laptop. What can solve this problem?

First, make sure it came with a wireless card installed. If not, you'll need an external one.
Second, some laptops have a switch for "airplane safe mode" that shuts the wireless card off. Make sure it is not in the off position.
Finally, if all your hardware is okay, then it is just a software fix. You should be able to go through your start menu or control panel (assuming Windows), network access, and use the help menus to guide you. If you can't figure it out, then invite over a friend that is decent with computers, or try the about.com search below and follow some of those instructions. Connecting to wifi is pretty easy.
