The allowance and fees vary according to the type of fare purchased and your status with the airline. The information below is for travel from Hong Kong to Toronto (you didn't state your destination) in economy class with no frequent flyer status with Air Canada. You can click on the link at the bottom if you do have status with the airline and you purchased a higher price ticket.
Checked baggage allowance

Includes Air Canada Tango, Flex and Latitude fares, and Aeroplan Economy, Air Canada Vacations Economy and Air Miles Economy tickets.
- $70 CAD/USD per direction (tickets issued before June 15, 2013)
- $100 CAD/USD per direction (tickets issued before October 26, 2013)
- No overweight or oversize charges apply when the additional bag fee is paid.
- Max. weight per bag: 23kg (50lb)
- Max. linear dimensions per bag: 158 cm (62in)
- Overweight bag: $100 CAD/USD (per direction) for bags between 23-32kg (50-70lb)
- Oversized bag: $100 CAD/USD (per direction) for bags between 160-292cm (63-115in)
- If a bag is both overweight and oversized, the $100 fee is charged only once.
