- Ensure that the gear lever is in "Park" (automatic transmission) or "Neutral" (manual transmission)
- Make sure that the handbrake is engaged
- Press the brake pedal
- Press the "Engine Start/Stop" button located on the center console.
If the engine doesn't start, check that the battery is fully charged and the fuel level is adequate.
