You can go to your AOL account onlne and cancel your account once logged in.

To access this service go to the following link and log in to your AOL Account, and answer the security question, if asked. AOL Account Help

Go to the Account Options link to make changes to your account, including cancelling your service.

Note: There is also a contact aol link, if further assistance is needed
