If Your Suitcase Is Damaged While Flying, What Can You Do About It?

I used American Airlines on 10/20 and returned on 10/25. My boyfriend picked my luggage up and carried to the car. When I got to the house he carried it in. Last night I went to unpack and realized that the entire frame has broke into pieces so that the top handle just colpses. My luggage is only two years old and I have used it 6 times and this has been with your airlines. What can be done!!
