Going straight to your bank to cancel can be problematic, and will fail if the bank determines that you haven't made sufficient efforts to resolve with the merchant [in this case, Avast]. The cancellation procedure is laid out at https://support.avast.com/en-us/article/Cancel-Digital-River-auto-renewal. You may contact avast by email; [email protected] for assistance. I've found that contacting your CC provider & disputing the charge(s) is the quickest option to resolve the charges.
