What Did I Do??
My nook froze on me, and I had a heck of a time getting it to restart. Tried the "take the battery out"...nothing...Tried a different cord...that seemed to charge it, but when I turned it on and hit the 'reading now" button, it froze with a half white, half black screen! I cannot unfreeze it at all now. Help! BTW, its a 1st edition

For frozen Nook screens:
First, try holding the power down for 10-15 seconds, and then pressing the power button again. If that doesn't reboot your Nook, try:
1. Unplug the nook.
2. Remove the battery (if you don't know how, there are further instructions in the manual).
3. Plug the nook in, without the battery.
The Nook will begin its reboot process. Once the reboot takes, insert the battery once again. Do so without turning off the Nook.
That should work, but just in case:
1-800-THE-BOOK (1-800-843-2665).
