Expressvu Goes Black?

My dish has started doing something weird.  Every night for the past four nights, at 1:10am exactly, the signal pixelates, the screen goes black for about 10 seconds then it tries to get the signal again.  This happens several times, and then I get a message telling me that my smartcard is not properly installed.  I then have to remove the card, put it back, and wait for it to pull the signal and download the guide again. What are they doing and when are they going to stop?  My old box did soemthing like this years ago and they would never admit they were doing anything. That was loss of signal at 3:00am every night, then every 20 minutes for 5 times, then it would go back to normal without any assistance from me.  They didn't answer my questions then either. I would call and ask them about it again - but I really don't have time to be that annoyed and that frustrated by people who don't know and clearly don't want to. Anybody here know what's going on with this?
