Bobbin Threading

I have a very old bernina 800 portable that runs beautifully. However, today I tried to fill a bobbin and sudenly the pin that holds the spool of thread will not hold the spool. I have tried all different spools but they wabble and seem to be sitting incorrectly on the pin as though something is missing that will make them snug up to the white claw that recieves the spool when the pin in pushed forward. Can you help please?
