Why Won't My Vaccuum Won't Suck Up Anything?

For some reason, the vaccuum is not sucking up anything! I've used it only three or four times.  The little hose works great, but for some reason, the vaccuum is actually spitting out dirt. The container is completely empty, I've cleaned and let the filters dry, I've assembled it all correctly. What is going on? Could I have reversed the rotors without knowing it?
