About Employeement

I had recently applied for shift leader position with bojangles in Cleveland tn and was told that my application was stopped due to my background check. I received a copy of the background check and everything on the list was at least 7 years old and none of them was violent crimes. I don't understand why a persons past has to define their future when it comes to employeement with certain companies. I understand the fact of wanting the best employees for your business, but I have grown up a lot in those 7 years and I have made better choices in the crowd I hang with. with that being said my charges were drug related and I was sent to prison for the crime. In prison is where I chose to change. I got my GED and got a certification thru Strattford Career Inst. in chaplain, new York to be a drug treatment specialist. I have been clean and out of trouble since than. I also completed a 10 month residential drug program called RDAP. Which duringsep this 10 months I was also chosen by the staff to be a leader of my class of 30 or more people. once I was released I worked at burger king as crew member for 2 yrs, had my baby in 2014, and than worked at dunkin donuts as a crew member before being promoted to a general manager over the hwy 58 store in Chattanooga,tn from 10/2015 until 9/2016. I am serve-safe certified as of 9/2016 and have a lot to offer a company that I work for. My past is what made me the person I am today and even if I could I would not go back and change it... Please give me a chance to bring to bojangles my best strength and qualities. I am a very good person who just made some bad choices in life .. I am not that same person I was 7 years ago and by denying me employeement because of something that happened so long ago is denying your company one of the best employees it would have ever had. all im asking for is a chance to prove myself to you and for my past choices not to define who I am today....thank you ,Lisa Hughes my contact info:
