The first thing you do is to immediately log into Classmates.com and change your payment status from Automatic to Manual. That act, theoretically, should protect you from future charges.

Free Members
You may cancel your free membership at any time by removing your registration. To do so, please follow these steps:

  • Sign-in
  • Review your account information and choose the appropriate reason for removal.
  • Click Remove Registration.
  • Select Yes to confirm your decision.

Paid Members
If you wish to cancel your paid membership - you need to be on record as having a manual renewal and not an automatic renewal so this process could take a few days.

  • Sign in to your account
  • Select a reason for canceling
  • Click Remove Registration
  • Click YES to confirm
  • please contact our Member Care Team regarding your request.
  • A representative will respond to your message via email to further assist you.

Note: You may cancel your All-Access Pass (previously known as a Gold membership) and/or remove your name from our site; however, per the Terms of Service to which you agreed when you submitted your payment, membership fees are non-refundable. Please keep in mind that a cancellation will result in the forfeiture of your membership fee.

You will need to contact your bank or your credit card company to ensure than no further funds are released - this will only work if your account is set to manual renewal and not automatic payment/renewal.  If you don't do this your credit card company or bank will tell you that you authorized the payment.

Should you need to contact Classmates.com by mail you can do so through their parent company.  Classmates.com is a subsidiary of Memory Lane, Inc dba Classmates.com,  3333 Elliott Ave W #500, Seattle, WA 98118.

Their phone numbers are 206-301-5700 and 425-917-5000 and their hours of operation are 8:00am - 5:00pm PT.

In some states it is illegal to renew a consumer subscription/membership without providing notice. If you live in Arkansas, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, New Mexico, North Carolina, New York, Pennsylvania. Tennessee, Utah or Wisconsin you should report this to the state's Attorney General's office or to the state Consumer Affairs Dept.

Moreover, many people did not realize that the $9.99 initial membership would roll over to an automatic membership at $39.99.  My guess is that the default setting in all accounts = automatic.
