Power

When I turn the power the start in safe mode screen comes up. But when you hit the enter button it shuts off.

Various things could cause this. Possibly a faulty hard drive. Maybe a faulty battery. or even a faulty power supply. My first instinct would be take out the battery and see if the fault persists. If it still shuts down take out the disk drive and try and boot from a floppy disk if you have one fitted. If not then try and find a boot-able CD and try that. By removing as many peripheral devices you are isolating where the fault is likely to be. Another probable suspect is the RAM. this is common when failing to boot. As soon as the machine tries to load the O/S it reaches the faulty memory and crashes. I have attached a link to the HP site for the NX9010. Drivers and support is all there.
