Looks like you answered your own question.

Basically you have to hack the password. There are many ways to do it. A surprisingly LARGE number of ways.

The quickest and easiest way is via the offline Windows password recovery CD.

Have someone burn the image to a CD. Boot the PC from the CD. Follow the directions. Basically just take the defaults on everything. Best results will be with blnaking the administrator password. Once done reboot and log in as administrator with no password.

There are other ways too, hacking the logon screen hacking the screen savrer, direct hacking of the registry, but this CD is the simplest.

You can press Ctrl + Alt + Delete keys on windows login page. it will take you to a dialoge box where you can enter a user name and password. The default administrator should have no password so type in Administrator into the User Name Box and press enter. Than go to contral panel, users and account, locate your user name and than change the password.
