Blades Too Short?

I purchased a used Craftsman 9" Bandsaw, Model 351.214190, for some hobby projects. I purchased a three pack of 62" blades from HomeDepot, which fits most 9" bandsaws. Unfortunately, the blades seemed to be too short. I had to pull down the top wheel to get the blade on, which then caused the wheel to rub against the bottom of the plastic cabinet door!! I returned the blades and went to Sears to purchase Craftsman blades, but these too resulted in the same problem. Help!!! What the heck is going on?
