I am having trouble getting the blade adjusted to cut straight

Achieving straight cuts has many factors to consider. You need to have the right blade for the material you’re cutting, the proper tension of the blades, the right speed and feed rate, the tpi of the blade, blade break-in and a properly tuned up band saw. If you have them all checked, add band saw experience for a perfectly straight cut!
