If you are using gmail to respond to it than you can go up to the search bar right by the google slogan and type in the code you have and it'll find any email having to do with that.

I believe most email companies do have something similar to that.

You don't have to be using Gmail to find old messages, and unfortunately Gmail will keep old messages only if that's what your settings provide. You can search in any email program for old messages that have not been deleted. If you're not sure how to do that, please either consult the program's help pages or resubmit to us with the name of the program. Otherwise Craigslist (sorry) will not help you.
