Craigslist says that in an effort to curb abuse of its email servers and limit the amount of spam inflicted upon its users, it does not accept email from computers with dynamically assigned IP addresses, or hosts that have generic DNS setup.

Since a great many users have dynamically assigned IP addresses, that could be the problem.
