What Do The Letters And Numbers Represent, When Responding To An Ad? 'pers-*****

There are 9 numbers, i.e.; pers-9*89*67*9Craigslist.org. The other has letters first. I. E.; pers-s Do these represent the area from which the ad is placed? Do they represent whether it's an ad placed, or answered to? What do the letters and numbers represent? Can I look these up still?
