Automatic Redirecting

When I type in the general craigslist site address, it automatically redirects me to a city's craigslist. I have the private function turned on, and I have cleared the history and cache, as well as visted the craigslist for many other cities in many other countries all in the hope of finding out why it keeps taking me back to one city's craigslist. However, to no avail. Craigslist still remembers that at some point I had visited the city's domestic craigslist page and takes me there.

As you may have seen, akanetuk's answer is not in point and won't help you. The answer is found in Craigslist's rule that your ads must be local—that is, in your own local area. See http://www.craigslist.org/about/help/reasons. The redirection is Craigslist's way of enforcing that restriction.
