How To Resend Original Text?

I sent a text a few hours back., and it is still in the "sending mode". It's happened a few other times, and I would always re-type the text. Is there a way to copy the original text and resend. I don't want to have to retype my texts, as some are lengthy,and I use the texting for work purposes.
