On his phone you dial *99 and hit send. If you're using a different phone to try to retrieve it, you call his phone number and as soon as the system answers you press * then enter his passcode and follow the automated instructions. The default passcode is 9999, if it hasn't been changed. If it has, you will not be able to access his messages without his passcode or his phone.
