Supposed Connection Problem 771a

When I turned on TV I got error msg 771A which is supposedly a connection prob. I followed directions, checked my connection, turned power off, waited, turned back on, same msg. However, if I hit the guide button I get the whole listing, program, time, etc. If I select a program though it seems like it wants to load but then reverts to the problem msg. If it's a bad connection why am I getting the menu just fine?
