Making Loud Noise

I don't even know how to explain the sound it's making. We've had this portable for quite some time and the noises have changed throughout the years, but this noise is loud. Honestly, I can't tell if it's a hissing sound or a pulsing sound, possibly both. I've taken audio if I could post that I would. The sound kicks on when the condenser and condenser motor kick in, when that shuts down the sound is gone. Which tells me it could be either of those things. So, I should ask, what kinds of sounds would a bad condenser and condenser motor make? Any help is appreciated. Thanks
