How Can I Make My N5010 Usb3 Compatible?

I have a WD My passport (usb3), with which my N5010 used to go along just fine, until one day I couldn't access my files anymore. I checked with other laptops (with usb3 ports) and its seems that My passport is ok (it's cable, too).I found a video on youtube demonstrating the usage of expresscard slot and then I found out that N5010 doesn't have one!Which is the easiest way to make my laptop "see" my usb3 external disk? Thanks,Zoe
