Hurricane Sandy

Due to hurricane Sandy that hit Long Island, NY my family is homeless...they will not be able to return to their home until Jan/Feb...I purchased a ticket to JFK for 12/19 earlier this year, but due to their homeless circumstances can I get a credit or voucher on my Delta 12/19 ticket to use at a later date....Plz advise. Thanks!

You definitely should contact Delta and ask if they can assist you in changing your ticket and waiving the change fee due to Hurricane Sandy and the havoc it will have on residents there for months/years to come. You definitely have a justifiable reason for requesting the change.

Call either of these numbers and explain your situation. If necessary, request to be transferred to a supervisor/lead agent or customer relations.

Also, make sure you contact Delta before your outbound flight date as your ticket may not have any value if you fail to notify them prior to the flight and it shows as a no-show for your reservation.
