Acquiring Satellie Signal

I am getting a box that comes up on my tv that says acquiring satellite signal, should not take more than 5 minutes. I have waited hours and it still hasn't moved, what should I do?

Hi, I am sorry you are having a signal issue. Please unplug the receiver from the power supply for 10 seconds and then let it reboot. If you do not make any progress on the message, please be sure all the wire connections from where the satellite comes into the room up to the receiver are all hand tight. If you are not experiencing any weather at this time then with your remote, press Menu-6-1-1, on the right hand side will be "Check Switch", select on that and then on the next screen, please select Test. If when it is done, you get an "836" message about fewer satellites, please CANCEL out and then you will need to contact me directly with the results and your account or phone number so I can assist you further. Please email me directly. Thank you!
