Does A Child Need A Pssport To Fly To Belfast

my 15 year old son is going to belfast with his father tomorrow overnight to go to a concert, his passport has not arrived does he need it to fly with easyjet from birmingham to belfast?

He will need either a citizen card or other card or document that ID's him with a picture
