Flights The Day Of

We are in the USA and are planning a trip to Edinburgh in June and need a one way flight from Edinburgh to London 2 adults. What are the chances we can get a flight the day of or a few days prior? ( We tried to book online but couldn't get past the phone number request (we have no moblie phone in the UK) and it wouldn't accept our american visa debit card.) Thanks!
