How Do I Delete A Potential Malicious Virus Note Posted On My Wall

I received an invitation to "something" on my wall from a friend.  I sent an email to friend to see what it was all about - in the note it said there was a meeting at 4pm.  He told me to ignore it, he never sent it - meaning his contacts must have been stolen.  I tried to delete from my wall and there is no X mark to delete it so I can't get rid of it.  Any suggestions??
