Why Does Fb Show That Someone Was Online 1min Ago

When you log into/ off of facebook and your Chat is off facebook will show that you've been on 1min ago, 3 mins ago ect. This is a real problem for a lot of people. Suppose you don't want someone to know that you are online so you turn the chat off but as soon as you log off they can tell that you were on automatically it says you logged off 1 min ago. Is there a way to shut that off? please reply to [email protected]. I know at least 50 people that this has been a problem for and actually broke up happy relationships. Please reply and thanks for your time. LTS

To turn chat on or off:

Click in your chat sidebar
Select Turn On Chat or Turn Off Chat

If you've previously turned on chat for only some of your friends, chat will only be on for those friends. For example, if you have chat on for only 3 friends, turn off chat, then turn it back on, chat will still only be on for those 3 friends.

To turn on chat for more or all of your friends, you'll need to adjust your chat settings.

Note: While chat is off, chats from friends automatically go to your inbox for you to read later. You’ll also receive them as messages on any mobile Facebook apps you install on your phone.
