If you are the administrator of a group and want to change its name, the process is quite easy.

- Visit your group's profile page and click the "Edit Group" link located about halfway down the screen's right column.

- Highlight the current group name, at the top of the screen, and hit the "Delete" key to remove it.

- Enter your new group name and click the "Save Changes" button at the bottom of the screen.

- Click on the link in the upper right corner of the screen labeled "Back to Group." Changes made to the group name immediately become visible.

Considerations

If you change the name of your group, bear in mind that users who previously found you using the Facebook search engine may have difficulties locating you in the future. Likewise, group members who belong to a large number of groups may find it difficult to find the correct group from their profile.

Consider posting a message to the group wall alerting group members to the name change before it happens.

With all this being said, I'm not sure if the number of group members prohibits a name change at some point once the group membership reaches a certian size.
