Status Indicator On Fb

is there a way to turn off the status indicator that always people to see that you were on facebook 1 min ago? I am speaking about the one where if you go and look up someone in your friends list it will say they were on 5hrs ago. That is really annoying. suppose you don't want that to show how do you stop it. even if your chat on fb/fb messenger are turned off it still shows. HELP! Thanks in advance.
