Adding Homepage As Friend On Company Page.

I publish a newsletter from an email program that allows me to post data to my facebook page. In order to set up that program, I was instructed to go to the company page on my facebook account and send a friend request to my home page. I went to my company page and searched for my home page in the search box. When the listing appeared for my homepage there wasn't any "add as friend" button. I tried searching for other facebook pages in the search box, and they did not show any "add as friend" buttons either. I went into my privacy settings on both the home page and the company page and under the "how to connect" caption, the word "everyone" appears for "who can send me friend requests". Please tell me what I need to do to get the "add as friend" button to appear. I am using a PC with windows 7 operating system and norton 360 antivirus.
