Why Does My Acct Keep Going Down For 'maintenance' For Days & Hours At A Time??

I have had an FB acct for over 2yrs & never had my acct go down for "maintenance." Why now does it seem to be happening all the time & for days at a time? How much "maintenance" does one acct need & when will this stop? It is very frustrating.

You need to understand that Facebooks primary focus is on making money via advertising, not wether you can log in. Otherwise they would make it easy to get to their tech support. As it is there is NO way to directly contact them.

Plus Facebook has over 500 million users.

The hardware required to manage that many accounts is massive. The databases alone are huge and they are on numerous machines scattered about the world.

The result is that there is no way they can maintain 100% uptime. Occasionally something must be taken offline for maintenance.

What you are experiencing is just site maintenance. The databases and/or the web servers and other hardware that manage your account are being serviced.

This type of work can take up to 24 to 48 hours to complete. One would think Facebook would have redundant clustered systems but that does not seem to be the case.

There could be other issues as well but since they are less than forthcoming on such things you will simply need to wait it out. They have no tech support phone number so there is no one you can call.

Right now they are making a lot of changes to the system. these changes eem to be causing issues. We (you, me, everyone) has no option but to wait them out.
