How Do I Open A Facebook Account?

My husband had an account with Facebook.  He passed away in 2012.  We only had one email account through out entire marriage. I have tried to an account in my name, but Facebook will not let me do so since my husband had an account.  Why can't I do so?  It just does not make sense.

There will be no problem if you use a different computer, so I'm presuming you're using the same computer. Make sure your logged out of his account. Then if necessary clear the cache and cookies (see your browser's help pages if you don't know how), and restart the system.

Facebook will only allow you to have one email address registered to an account. Since your husband used the email address to register his own Facebook account, you are not able to create an account using the same email address.

If you would like your own Facebook account:

You can recover your husband's account by submitting for a new password from Facebook, if you don't know the password he used.

You can open a new email address and register your own Facebook account with the new email address.

Hi cajntaz

You can only register one email address with Facebook. So I would suggest you to delete account permanently please click on the link mentioned below:

http://on.fb.me/YiBlnf

You can also create a new email account and after that signup with Facebook, that might help you. For example you can create a Gmail account from the link below:

 http://bit.ly/u6dPD2

You can also report the same to Facebook as well from the link mentioned below:

In case you have access to your husband email account, you can also change the Facebook account password after that you can change all the credentials of the account. Please click below to change it:

Please write back if you have any further questions.

Thanks & Regards
