Running A Script In The Background??

I noticed that on the IM function, there are now lil icons (smiley face, LOL, etc..) since this has been added, my FB is running very slowly and i keep getting an error message saying "you are running a script in the background, do you want to stop running", i say yes and 5 minutes later it comes up again, i have no idea what is going on and dont know if its related to the IM icons or not, but please help
