My Facebook Is Running Extremely Slow, It Takes Forever To Scroll And View Pages

The past few weeks, i have been having great difficulty scrolling on facebook and viewing pages. I can't notify people in a timely manner - it's hard to log out etc. I am considering closing my facebook account. It has gotten so frustrating. I need assistance to get this resolved.
