You are seeing this message because Facebook has detected suspicious activity on your account and has temporarily suspended it as a security precaution. This may be because your Facebook account was accessed from an unfamiliar computer. It is also possible that your password was "phished," or stolen by a website designed to look like Facebook.

You will be able to regain access to your account once you complete the automated security verification process.

To regain access to your account, you must confirm your identity by completing our automated security verification process. To begin this process, enter your login information (ex: email address and password) on www.facebook.com.. Follow the instructions to verify your identity and, if necessary, scan your computer for viruses. If you've forgotten your Facebook password, first request a new password.

Depending on the levels of account protection that you've previously opted in to, you may have the option of verifying your identity through the following channels:

Identify your friends: Identify your Facebook friends from a series of their tagged photos.
Security question: Answer your security question. This option will only be available if you had previously set a security question on your account.
Birthday: If certain criteria are met, you will have the option to verify your account by providing your date of birth.

You may have the option to choose a different verification method. Look for the Choose a verification method message at the bottom of the screen. After you complete this process, please be sure to read the information provided regarding keeping your account secure in the future.
