Precious Planet Take Along Swing.

My daughter received a Precious Planet take along swing for a baby shower gift.  After it was put together it did not work right.  They took it back took it back to the store (Target) but Target no longer had this model.  They were told they could not receive any reimbursement for it.  I took it to our Target store and received the same information.  We have been working at this so long that the time frame for returns is no longer in effect.  The problem is that Target would not give a gift card since there was no receipt.  It was a gift. and Fisher Price no longer make this particular product.  What are they to do.  It doesn't seem right that Target will not give a gift card.  It wasn't their fault it did not work, the product is no longer made, and it didn't work.  Can you please help them?
