Electrical Smell Detected From Exhaust Vent
There is an electrical type smell coming from the exhaust vent when the dehumidifier is in operation. I do not detect any smoke and the smell is not very strong however is very evident. The manufacturing date code is MQ. I have had this Frigidaire FDF50S1 for approximately 2 years. What are my options for service and/or repair?
This is both a troubleshooting and warranty question.

Hi – Does the unit run for a long period of time? From what you have described it sounds like there is possibly something burnt inside or sealed system issue within the unit. When was the last time the exhaust vent was cleaned? I would recommend cleaning if you haven’t so yet. Honestly I suggest contacting Frigidaire to see if you have any limited warranty on such concern and then schedule a professional.
