If the "Add a Garment" light on your Frigidaire FFTW1001PW washing machine stays on even when the machine is not being used and the machine beeps, it could be due to a few possible reasons:
  1. Malfunctioning Door Lock: The door lock mechanism may not be functioning properly, causing the machine to think that the door is not properly closed, and hence the "Add a Garment" light stays on. Try opening and closing the door firmly to see if this resolves the issue. If not, you may need to replace the door lock.
  2. Control Board Issues: The control board of the washing machine may be malfunctioning, causing it to display incorrect information or send incorrect signals to the machine's components. Try resetting the control board by unplugging the washing machine for a few minutes and then plugging it back in. If this doesn't work, you may need to replace the control board.
  3. Sensor Issues: The sensor that detects whether the door is closed or not may be faulty, causing the "Add a Garment" light to stay on. Try cleaning the sensor with a soft cloth and see if this resolves the issue. If not, you may need to replace the sensor.

If none of the above steps work, it's best to contact a qualified technician to diagnose and repair the issue.

  1. Power cycle the washer: Unplug the washer from the power source and wait for a few minutes, then plug it back in. This can help reset the control panel and may resolve the issue.
  2. Check the door lock mechanism: Ensure that the washer's door is fully closed and latched properly. If the door is not closed securely, the washer may beep and the Add a Garment light may stay on. Clean the door latch and surrounding area from any debris or dirt that may be obstructing the door lock mechanism.
  3. Check for error codes: Some washers display error codes on the control panel when there is a problem. Look for any error codes or error messages on the display, if available.
  4. Perform a manual drain: If there is excess water in the washer, it may cause the Add a Garment light to stay on. Manually drain the water from the washer using the drain hose or drain pump filter, if applicable, and then see if the issue persists.
  1. Verify the cycle completion: Ensure that the washer has completed its previous cycle fully. If a cycle was interrupted or not completed, it may cause the Add a Garment light to stay on and the washer to beep. Start a new cycle and let it complete to see if the issue resolves.

Please note that attempting to repair the washer yourself without proper knowledge or expertise may void any warranties and could potentially cause further damage. Therefore, it's always best to seek professional assistance if you're not confident in troubleshooting and repairing the washer yourself.

Let's hope this will help ya!
