Hi mychoicetwo - Have you recently cleaned the filter? Restricted air flow from dirty air filter can caused air conditioners to not work properly. Make sure there is nothing blocking the airflow to the unit like drapes, blinds, furniture, etc which could restrict air distribution. When was the last time you cleaned the outside condenser coils? Confirm that the condenser coil is clean and not restricted by any trees, bushes, etc. Verify that the plug is not damaged and try resetting the unit. If any of these suggestions prove to be ineffective, then the unit could possibly have faulty PC power board, faulty compressor or power supply. Because it could be a number of any one of several underlying causes, I would recommend contacting a professional to properly diagnose and repair the unit.
