Under front (right) passengers foot well, bolted to the block near the bell housing.
Disconnect the side terminal battery connections first. Disconnect the positive battery cable from the starter solenoid. Disconnect the small wire terminals from the solenoid.
Now you're ready to remove the two large metric bolts from the starter frame to cylinder block connection. You'll need no smaller than a a 1/2 drive 12" long ratchet with a couple of 1/2 extensions.

Depends on the model number and where the truck was manufactured mine was manufactured for California emmisions and the starter is on the left side under the exhaust manifold
