2000 Gmc Sonoma 4x4... Steering
I have a 2000 GMC Sonoma. I have a problem with the steering. I have replaced the steering box, pitman arm, lower ball joints, tyrod ends, new tires & have had an alignment. It still swerves even though the steering is tight! Funny thing is that if I loosen up the steering box it steers better! What do you think could be the reason for the swerving? I've replaced almost everything front end related...Even had wheel bearings packed. Help please!

Has the truck ever been in an accident? Your frame could be bent. Does the truck feel like it is "crabbing" when you drive it down the road? Picture how a crab moves and you will know what I'm talking about. You should be able to spot a bent frame if you go under the truck.
Have you replaced the front struts recently? Worn or damaged struts would cause the truck to veer to one side. A broken rear shock could also cause the truck to veer to one side.
Did you check the idler arm for play? A bad idler arm will usually make a clanging noise, though, so you should be able to hear it if it's bad.
