Is There A Remedy For Clunking/rattling Noise Coming From Steering Shaft?

I own a 2005 GMC Sierra Pickup.  The rattling in steering shaft is getting worse. I found a GMC Sierra recall notice involving a bolt that attaches steering shaft to the steering gear.  Could this be my problem?
