Flash Disk Write Protect Removal

have a 2.0 flash disk. tried to transfer files to said flash disk. computer prompt is flash disk write protected. how do i remove write protect from said flash disk, tried a lot of possible solution including regedit to no avail. pls enlighten me on this one. thanks a lot.
