No Dial Tone.
I have purchased a new battery, everything seems to work okay, but I do not get a dial tone.

Check the phone wall plug connection to be sure it is fully inserted. Do you have a dialtone on other phones if not it is either the dwelling wiring or a network problem. It may be wise to check with your carrier for outages.
