What Should The Icemaker Test Button Do On The Side Of The Icemaker

Ever since I emptied the ice bin it hasn't made anymore ice. It did dump some cubes 2 days ago after turning the ice lock on but not since. I took the water filter off and water works great in the door

Have you tried holding the test button for 15 seconds? I read that it may make your ice maker start its cycle again.
