What Are The Goodwill Return Procedures And Refund Policies?

I need to return my electronics to Goodwill and I can't get anybody on the phone to help. Does anyone know how the Goodwill return and refund process works?

Hey there,

The return policy for electronics may vary from state to state, so depending where you reside, it could be as little as 7 days to as much as 14 days.

First check if the electronics you purchased has a ‘This item has been tested’ sticker. Most electronics that are donated to Goodwill are, so that the buyer is reassured that the product does work. The sticker will also state whom it was tested by, on what date, and a deadline date that forfeits the return.

Most Goodwill’s only give store credit for returns, but this again may vary from state to state.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Make sure you have your receipt and the item you’ve purchased. (You must at least have your receipt for a return).
  2. Return the item within the time aloud for store credit at the Goodwill location you purchased it from.
  3. If the item itself does not have a ‘This item has been tested’ sticker with information about returns (and there is no information of their policy on the receipt, then you can find further information about the specific Goodwill by going to : http://locator.goodwill.org , and inputting your zip code to locate their specific store information that will contain their return policy, hours of operation, and contact information.
  4. As a last resort, if you do not have your receipt, try calling  (800) GOODWILL with information of the item in question, goodwill location, time of purchase, and the complications you’re having to return the item.
